My daughter wrote this sometime in 2013 I believe, She has a B.S. In English and wants to pursue becoming a professor of literature.
I love that I found it today, and interestingly enough today begins the novena to St. Monica.
I cried of course.
Mothers always hope in and believe in their children. I believe in her and will forever. She belongs to God as a beloved daughter eternally whether or not she chooses to follow her First Love, her King and God. No impersonal fake deity holds claim; only her Truest of Loves.
"Forgiveness is such an anchor of the New Testament, and so central to Jesus' ministry and preaching. This is such an anchor of the New Testament, and so central to Jesus' ministry and preaching. When it comes to the offenses that we have received from others, we are, all of us, great avatars of justice. We will remember every insult, every snub, and every shortcoming, when it comes to our being hurt by others. That's why forgiving even once or twice is so difficult.
Forgiving seven times, as Peter suggests, is beyond the pale. Yet Jesus says to him, "I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times." In other words, forgive constantly, relentlessly, without calculation. Your whole life must become an act of forgiveness.
Here is the spiritual heart of the matter: whatever anyone owes you (in strict justice) is infinitely less than what God has graciously given to you; the divine forgiveness of you is infinitely greater than any forgiveness you might be called upon to offer.
Becoming an instrument of God's life, grace, forgiveness, and peace is what it is all about. Allow to flow through you what has been poured into you—that is the whole story."
I love the Rosary. It's my weapon against evil, it's my tool for building faith, it's the way of uniting one's soul so deeply to Christ in the gospel.
When I feel afraid or depressed and it's 3:00 am, I can hold my rosary and invoke Mary's help and always I receive peace. I pray for the reversion of fallen away Catholics, for peace, and for the conversion of sinners.
“Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” -St. Padre Pio
"If you don't have the Rosary memorized yet, it's ok.. just hold on to it. You're holding your Mother's hand." –Fr. James Erving
“Say the Holy Rosary. Blessed be that monotony of Hail Mary’s which purifies the monotony of your sins!” -St. Josemaria Escriva
